Individuals on the autism spectrum do not ‘outgrow’ autism as they get older, but their symptoms may lessen or change as they mature and receive intervention. Even so, as their caregivers age, a residential facility designed and built to meet the needs of adults on the autism spectrum may be an long-term option.
